As “green building” becomes a construction industry standard, Apple required a LEED certification management firm that could shepherd the process and develop creative solutions in sustainability construction. As a result, Apple chose Compass Solutions for their sustainability knowledge and technical experience to perform LEED consulting services for their first USGBC certified project. This 60,000 sf project is planned for Silver Certification. The space has been constructed with materials made from recycled content, and features state-of-the art mechanical and electrical systems to promote thermal comfort and building energy efficiency. In addition, the design accommodates “daylighting” features so that employees feel a connection with the outdoor environment.
